HAIL THE 80S VAN HALEN ARE BACK

I just heard the best news today. Van Halen are planning to tour next year, with the legendary David Lee Roth. Hearing them brings back so many memories from my teenage years. From getting drunk for the first time. To my first kiss. Tell me do you want to see Van Halen Tour. Or am I the only one living in the past?

Three Stoogies Remake - But Why????

I am a vintage girl, classic movies are my favourite.  But when I heard today through the grapevine that they are making a remake of the three stoogies.  But why I asked myself.  Maybe I am being negative about it.  But can there be a modern day version of these classic movies?   Maybe I'm just being nostalgic for the hilarious movies from childhood.  But dad just loved these movies.  I remember sitting beside him on the lounge watching these movies over and over again.  We never got sick of them.  That slap stick humour.  Was great for that period of time.  No-one did it better than the three stoogies.  When you think of slap stick.  I think of curly.  Not many words were spoken just punching and eye poking is what made these films funny for the day.  My dad used to watch them over and over again.  Now that I think about it.  He would just love the collection of these film on DVDs.  I know they did Dummer and Dummer in the 1990s but can they remake this old classic and make it better than the original.  In my opinion it will have to be seen to be believed.

Classic Style - Icon Audry Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn was skinny (well maybe not by todays standards) had bushy eyebrows and a thick fringe.  When I think of Audrey.  I think of style and grace.  Breakfast At Tiffany's was the film that sealed her reputation as a fashion goddess. Audrey in the film Tiffany's with her beehive hairdo, white gloves and little black dress was and is one of the most stylish looks of today and yesterday year. Her appeal was that her style was universally accessible and even today looks modern. How is that possible?  It is because she never made the mistake of following trends, but remained loyal to the clothes that suited her the best. That is why she became bigger than fashion.  She is still a icon that many models in magazines still dream about looking like today.  Many girls for there proms or formals still want to look like Audrey in her classic style.

Is Classic Horror Dead???? Cabin in the Woods - Remake of Evil Dead

I just love classic horror and evil dead would have to be one of my favourite movies of all time.  The modern horror of today.  Like Paranormal Activity just doesn't do it for me.  It was just down right stupid.  Sometimes I rent these movies, having great expectations and am just so disappointment.  Is the cabin in the woods just going to be a bad remake of an horror classic.  With the same old story line that we have seen over and over again.  Like nightmare on elm street  My god, what were they thinking with that remake.  If you are going to remake a classic at least put some thought into it.  Horror movies are not just about the gore but about the suspense.  What is going to happen next, I just love to moved to the edge of my seat.   Put my hand over my eyes, but you have to peak through your fingers.   I do believe that the question should be asked can a good modern day slasher film be made.  Or is this movie A Cabin in the Woods, just going to be like the rest.  A dissapointment.  I want so bad to be wrong.  Well I just have to wait until it comes to the big screen to be proven wrong.  What is your favourite horror film.  Mine is definately the Shining.  Stephen King at his best.

Interest Rate Cut

I work casually in retail.  I also have an ebay store.  What a sad time for retail and its Xmas.  I have been fighting to keep my job.  I am currently looking for a second job, also sadly in retail.  As I love the hours with small children.  Thank god today I hear that the reserve bank in Australia, because of the European crisis has cut interest rates.  Lets just cross our fingers that the bank then pass the savings onto the customer.  Christmas is now starting to look better.

Would you purchase a wedding dress online???????

Just wondering if anyone has got any experiences of buying their wedding dress online?  Would you buy your wedding dress online.  If you are on a tight budget.  Maybe you might be considering it as you can't justify spending hundreds of dollar or even thousands on a dress you will only wear once and would rather put a bit more money into the reception party for everyone to have a good time.
There's loads of websites and my friend ebay (maybe I could start selling the most loved dress of a girls life) On these sites you send off your measurements and they send back a dress in 6-8 weeks sounds good as its made to measure.  But is it just too good to be true?  Are you going to get a ill fitted dress, that just looks down right ugly and could ruin, what was meant to be the best day of your life.

Are books dead?

No one reads anymore.  Are books dead?  You can borrow a book from the library, and experience that sweet smeal of the musty pages.  Which an e book can't give.  Are we really living in a disposable world that books will no longer exist.  Magazine, books and newspaper sales have declined over the last 5 years.  Why does no one read anymore, has technology taken over and people just play games.  These take attention also.  Just like a book does.  These are questions that I often ask myself.  TV is not just a new technology so I can't blame the decline in book sales to this technology.  But could it be the internet, is this the monster that has taken the joy out of reading a book old fashioned book.  I hope that I pass my passion of reading to my son.  As we have a whole box full of children books that he reads over and over again.    I love to see his little eyes light up when he turns the pages.  You cant not get that joy from a computer.  Says I the person that is typing this blog.  HA HA HA.

19 Sleeps until Xmas

Back again after soon time.  19 sleeps until Xmas can you believe.  Sales are doing well.  First Xmas selling vintage items on ebay and just loving it.  Though I have been working hard in my day to day job so its been getting items posting and listed.  My PC also runs so slowly.  Having wireless and when it rains, the connection is not so good.  I have also noticed that vintage is definately making a come back and I am just loving it.  New stores and shops seem to be opening up (springing up) all over the place.  Items sold are like little timepieces framed from that era.  Our family is also getting ready for Xmas.  I have also found some little gems that I will be wearing on the day.  Will need to post pics of these.  Just love the 50's and 60's.   Will be back shortly to post more gems.  Also got to get the vegetable garden up and running.  My son has a pet worm farm and it just make awesome fertilizer.

About Me

Hi all to whom get to read my blog.

I have so much to say, as it has taken a lot to get to this point in my life.  So I hope that someone out there reads my story and understands what I have been going through.  Or has been there at some point in there life, or know someone with a similar story.

I am a mum with two young kids.  Two beautiful boys that are the joy in my life.  Though I felt that it has been a constaint battle to get to that point.  I have had 1 stillborn and 4 miscarriages over the last five years.  But the end result was worth all the heartache.

I am also trying to get an online business up and running at the moment selling vintage clothes and secondhand books.  So please check out my ebay store http://stores.ebay.com.au/foxandfoevintage

At the moment in our house, I am blogging with onhand.  Feeding the baby a bottle with the other.  I am sure that lots of mums out there can relate.

Well thats enough info for one day.  Until tomorrow.

Bye Bye
