Vintage Storage

I work in a storage organization store, and have so for seven years.  But I find that storage never goes out of style.  Some of the old medical storage units and canisters I love.  And they are very rare and hard to come back.

Military is also a style that never goes out either.  Gone are the days of the military surplus store.  There are some around but not in every town as once before.   I know theres one in the CBD that has been owned by the same family for decades.  Old fashioned service and being measured up like you don't get any more.  Selling clothes that would last forever, jackets and jumpers made of wool....

Manners - are they a thing of the past??

So why are some of these manners not being taught as much?  There used to be schools that taught us manners.  I  can't remember when the last person said thank you.

Well, there are a lot of different factors people blame for the mannerless change.

Some folks blame computers and the internet, we spend a lot of time using them which is time we're not spending around other people and being social....

Or we're finding some manners aren't that relevant to our society anymore, some people may even think seating a woman at a table is sexist! And we're even making up our own rules about manners, like not using phones on public transport or not writing emails with the Caps Lock on, because some people think it means they're being shouted at.

So it doesn't necessarily mean kids today are mannerless, but maybe the way you show your good manners has changed.

What are your thoughts?

Is the sound of vinyl better than CD

This is a popular question asked in old school groups.  Vinyl junkies love vinyl.  New school loves usb and digital.  I must admit I love both.  And there is use for both.

But the answer lies in the difference between the recordings. A vinyl record is  an analog recording, and  CDs are digital recordings.

A vinyl record has a groove carved into it that mirrors the original sound's waveform. This means that no information is lost. The output of a record player is analog.

Vinyl recordings can be much more accurate, and that can be heard in the richness of the sound. But  dust or damage to the record can be heard.

Digital recordings don't degrade over time or welt or warp,   They can last forever.

Vintage or Just Junk People that have gotten rich

What you might consider junk.  Might just be valuable.  Remember what could be your junk, could be somes treasure, and could be every valuable.   Remember that famous painting have been found at garage sales.  Yes at garage sales.  Unfortunately garage sales now are becoming vintage too.  The internet has replaced these.  Ebay and the internet are the way to the future.  But I miss those days of going through boxes..

From getting drunk for the first time. To my first kiss. Tell me do you want to see Van Halen Tour. Or am I the only one living in the past?

Three Stoogies Remake - But Why????

I am a vintage girl, classic movies are my favourite.  But when I heard today through the grapevine that they are making a remake of the three stoogies.  But why I asked myself.  Maybe I am being negative about it.  But can there be a modern day version of these classic movies?   Maybe I'm just being nostalgic for the hilarious movies from childhood.  But dad just loved these movies.  I remember sitting beside him on the lounge watching these movies over and over again.  We never got sick of them.  That slap stick humour.  Was great for that period of time.  No-one did it better than the three stoogies.  When you think of slap stick.  I think of curly.  Not many words were spoken just punching and eye poking is what made these films funny for the day.  My dad used to watch them over and over again.  Now that I think about it.  He would just love the collection of these film on DVDs.  I know they did Dummer and Dummer in the 1990s but can they remake this old classic and make it better than the original.  In my opinion it will have to be seen to be believed.

Classic Style - Icon Audry Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn was skinny (well maybe not by todays standards) had bushy eyebrows and a thick fringe.  When I think of Audrey.  I think of style and grace.  Breakfast At Tiffany's was the film that sealed her reputation as a fashion goddess. Audrey in the film Tiffany's with her beehive hairdo, white gloves and little black dress was and is one of the most stylish looks of today and yesterday year. Her appeal was that her style was universally accessible and even today looks modern. How is that possible?  It is because she never made the mistake of following trends, but remained loyal to the clothes that suited her the best. That is why she became bigger than fashion.  She is still a icon that many models in magazines still dream about looking like today.  Many girls for there proms or formals still want to look like Audrey in her classic style.
